'The City' calling...

I was born and brought up in a big city back in India and I totally am a city girl. But I guess change is the only thing constant in one's life and so here I am, in this country, living in a small town away from the hustle and bustle of the city- life!!

When I first came here I was absolutely mesmerized by the natural beauty of this small town, the serenity and the snow (since I came here in the winter and we never had snow in the city where I lived back in India) and the icing on the cake  was a warm welcome from some amazing friends here.

But, as they say, if it is too sweet it gets bitter, and so it happened to me.After a while, I was bored of the picture perfect scenario and had it not been for the wonderful friends ( who were like a family away from home to me) I would have been bored to death by now! I was tired of the quiet, picturesque landscape and my heart craved for some smoke and pollution, some dirt, some crowd and some noise- in one word I wanted to have my kinda' life!!

Well, lucky me, my husband and I got a golden opportunity to live in New York City for a year and oh boy!  what a city it is!! I felt like I was back home in my city, just that NYC is one hundred times bigger and busier and so much more amazing!!It  is, truly, the most amazing city in the world and I fell head over heels in love with it!!

But, alas, all good things must come to an end, and so ended my life in the city and I am back here in the mid west...It is not much of a regret on my part now as I believe in learning to love the place where you live, but any day, given me a choice, I would definitely choose city life over country!!(Honestly, country, to me, is so synonymous to vacation!)
As they say, you can take a girl out of the city, but you cannot take the city out of a girl!!  So 'THE CITY' keeps calling me, once in a while..........

  28. I really like the plum scarf and red pants! I understand the city longing - I would get bored easily as well. Right now I live just outside Atlanta, which is great because there's plenty of beautiful photo shooting locations, but I can drive to downtown in 20 minutes!
