A tale of two prints...

While I consider myself to be a pro when it comes to mixing colors, I'm that much more novice and a nervous wreck when it comes to mixing patterns and prints!
So when the beautiful Marion, of  Marionberry Style  announced this month's  'Trend of the Month Challenge' as pattern mixing, it really came as a gargantuan challenge to me!

'Dear friends, welcome to a tale of two prints!'

LOOK 1:

                                                                           What I Am wearing:
                                                                                                             Look 1:
dress worn as top- Old Navy    skirt- H&M    flats- random store in NYC
bag and bracelets- H&M(gift from a dear friend)    sunnies- Kenneth Cole

At first, none of the printed pieces in my closet seemed to work well together!
It was after many a trials and errors in front of the mirror that I ended up creating two looks with this very versatile, pin-striped, neon green dress worn as top.
For amateurs like myself, I would suggest mixing two smaller prints, like I've done in Look 1(stripes and floral) or a smaller print with a larger print, like I've done in look 2(stripes and dots).

LOOK 2:

                                                                         What I Am Wearing:
                                                                                                          Look 2:
dress worn as top- Old Navy    skirt- The Limited    bag- Aldo   ring- Rue 21
flats and sunnies- Kenneth Cole    bracelets- H&M(gift from a dear friend)

After all that thinking, I still could not decide which combo looked better.
The ball is now in your court.

Tell me, which look you like more, 1 or 2, or if at all you like any of them?

Also, today I'm linking up with  The Pleated Poppy  for her What I Wore Wednesday and  Rolled Up Pretty  for her Whatever Whenever Wednesday.

                  Thanking you                                                                                                  Yours fashionably
                                                                                                                                            Juneli

  20. I think you did a great job mixing patterns in both looks. Stripes and florals, stripes and polka dots are looking great! Here's another tip if you ever try pattern mixing on the blog...photograph the outfit either with the garments laying on the floor or hanging. Even though the pattern may look overwhelming in person...in photos that may not be the case :)

    Excellent job with the challenge!
