Tips for
navigating the online fashion world:
You can buy pretty
much everything online these days, with many of us ditching the high street
shopping experience altogether. Whilst you browse the latest fashion trends
from the comfort of your own home, take a quick look at our guide on the pros
and cons to online clothes shopping.
Con:
Can’t Try Before You Buy
Let’s be honest –
trying something on in store and being able to see exactly how you look in an
outfit, feel the fabric and the test quality of the garment, is the best way of
knowing whether something is going to suit you. Ordering online means you won’t
know how it looks or feels until it arrives.
Pro:
Easy Returns Policy
Having said that,
if you do find yourself with something quite different from the image you saw
online, there is always a returns option. This is usually fairly straightforward
and online retailers with physical shops will often allow you to return your
garment to your local store if you’d prefer not to entrust it with the postal
service. This means that if you love a certain brand, such as Oasis
clothes at Very.co.uk, then you can enjoy browsing their new
styles both in person and online.
Pro:
Variety and Choice
The online
shopping pros will tell you that knowing your exact measurements and what suits
your body shape best will save you the effort of returning items and will help
make your online shopping experience count. The variety of options available online
will also allow you to experiment with new ideas away from the beady eyes of
sales staff. This varied choice will enable you to consider styles you’d
normally walk past in the shops, expanding the diversity of your wardrobe in a
heartbeat.
Pro:
Affordable Prices
Prices are often
cheaper online than the high street due to the lower overheads. If you’re
worried about the cost of delivery, check for special offers. Many sites have
free delivery when you spend over a certain amount or offer VIP accounts with
next day delivery all year round.
Pro:
Convenience
The biggest plus
of shopping online is the convenience – you can shop at anytime, day or night.
You don’t have to deal with crowds or the hassle of changing rooms or partners
and children complaining that you’ve dragged them round the high street for
hours on end.
With so many
benefits, is it any wonder that the online retail world has revolutionised the
way we shop?

Thanks all for your wonderful comments!
ReplyDeleteI agree that one of the main downside is that you can't try clothes on before you purchase them, but still, I love to shop online very much, it's a norm now :)

Sure, dear, I would love to!
DeleteOnline shopping is really convenient and saves you a lot of time. But when I buy clothes I like to try them on first, you can't do that through online. So that's a bit of a turn off.
ReplyDeleteMost of my shopping is done online and if they dont fit i return to the store. I've gotten my measurements down packed and I've learnt from experience which designers run big or small. I shop online cos I don't have enough time to go to the mall.
