Toned down...

Did you all think that my previous outfit post was an overdose of colors?
Well, then here I am,  toned down,  for your liking!

As you all know,we bloggers are constantly on the look out for new, interesting backdrops for our photographs, and in the process, we wandered into this golf course right across our home. I always knew it existed, but not being a golfer, I never thought of checking it out.
The pro- the greenery is a treat for the eyes, and provided the perfect backdrop for my teal pants.
The con? We literally had to run away to save ourselves from being hit by the golf balls and to hide ourselves from the curious and bedazzled looks of the golfers!!

Have a great weekend everyone and please excuse me if I am irregular next week as I have my hands full- it is going to be filled with...
Beach and water, sand and sun,
Barbecues and drinks, friends and fun!

On the bright side...

This outfit is a little on the bright side...OK! Totally on the bright side!
Duhhhhh, what do you think it 'll be? It is summer and I have every right to put one every single color on the color wheel, all together.
You must b thinking if it is summer what that damn blazer is doing? Well, that is because today I'm taking part in the Trend of the Month link-up at  Marionberry Style.. This month's challenge is to create an outfit with a bright blazer, and this is the only bright blazer I have. In case, Marion thinks it is not bright enough, I have added ample of other brights in this outfit, so that I do not fade into oblivion in a sea of brights at Marionberry Style.. I think I'll be the only person sporting a bright blazer with other brights, but you see, I like breaking rules!

Also, today I'm linking up with  Rolled Up Pretty  for Whatever Whenever Wednesday and  The Pleated Poppy  for What I Wore Wednesday.
Do not forget to check out what other bloggers are wearing.

Short and sweet...

It is Monday again, and the work week starts. The only consolation is that just 4 days from now starts a week-long fun-filled vacation with my dear friends! Hurrrrrrraayyyyyy!

Today I'm going to keep it really short and sweet.
Lately, I'm having a major crush on short suits, but one, since it is too hot these days, and two, since I'm going to wear my only bright blazer for the next post on Wednesday, I decided to ditch the blazer and wear just the shorts.
I started off with an all black ensemble in mind, but the color maniac in me ended up adding pops of colors here and there.
Nope, it is not a short-suit, just short and sweet!

P.S.  As per many of your suggestions and comments in my previous post about the best light for a better quality photograph, the hubby clicked a couple pics last Saturday, which, fortunately was a cloudy day and as you can see, I'm really happy with the end result! Thanks a bunch all of you for sharing such wonderful tips! Those are really helpful!

At a loss for.....light!

Photography is truly and art, and a science too.

We at Fashionably Yours, belong to that group of photographers who clicks away with glee whenever in hold of an easy point and shoot which requires no technical know-how or complex manual adjustments.
We have, many a times, thought of investing into a good DSLR, but the very thought of carrying a separate pouch and a bigger camera while on vacation, has refrained us from doing so (how silly. eh?)
Now that I have started blogging, the hubby is insisting on a DSLR, as photography surely plays a pivotal role  in a fashion blog.
I, of course, understand the simple equation of DSLR= better quality picture, but then, we can at least get the basics right in a basic device, can't we?
All this while, we have been debating about the ideal or optimum level of natural light for a good quality photograph. We have tried everything under the sun ( I mean, literally under the sun)- morning light, afternoon light, evening light, bright sunny day, cloudy day, direct sunlight, shadow, light and shadow- but could not yet come to a conclusion as to which is better. Sometimes a photograph turns out to be bright and beautiful and sometimes dull and shabby, in the same amount of natural light! And then there is always the problem of an ugly shadow being cast by the subject, i.e. myself!
Even this morning, he was pushing me under the shadow of a tree, resulting in a photograph which is too dark, and I was trying to sneak out into the bright sunlight, resulting in a photograph which is too white!

We are unable to figure out the best light for a better photograph.
We seem to be  perpetually at a loss for........ light!

Please do tell me if you have any tips regarding the  ideal amount of natural light for a better quality photograph! I would love to hear them!

Today I'm linking up with  Two Thirty-Five Designs  and  The Weekend File for the Friday business casual link up. Do not forget to check out what other bloggers are wearing.
