Playing it down...






I'm obsessed these days with the idea of de-glamourizing or playing down a fancy, sparkly, evening wear skirt with a casual chambray/cotton button down, faded denim or a camo jacket- adds that extra wear value to those special pieces in your closet which you thought you could only wear on those special days or nights!
For this look, I still have put on a couple statement pieces as it was a day date with the husband, but you can totally dress down the entire look with a pair of tan leather boots and a casual cross-body in similar shade.

    Love this - I'm always stumped on how to dress down some of my fancier pieces so this is great inspiration. The bright yellow/gold skirt combo is so fun!
