Trendy in teal...
Teal is a color, I believe, which suits most complexion. Not too bright, but bright enough to make a statement. I'm not very sure if this blouse looks teal enough in the photographs, but it is indeed a very enchanting teal in person. The three quarter sleeves are ideal for the pleasant chill of fall and the tie collar and the tiny floral print make it trendy enough.
I sure feel trendy in teal in this blouse!
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Tough love...
As I've mentioned before, I've always loved a mix of tough, masculine pieces with fun, flirty, feminine pieces.
I believe, a forest green military/utility jacket is the perfect way of adding some tough love to any fall outfit!
This jacket is light enough for those pleasantly cold days of fall and can be worn in many different ways- buttoned up, belted or just throw 'em on!
I thought the color palette of moss green, burnt orange and rich caramel is so apt for this season. Honestly, I, myself, am a little obsessed with the almost perfect blend of the flirty, feminine pieces- the floral printed short skirt, ruffle blouse and orange heels- with the masculine vibe created with the military jacket, broad, worn out, leather belt and the aviators.
Some tough love, indeed!
Tell me, do you like mixing masculine and feminine pieces in an outfit?
Today I'm linking up with The Pleated Poppy for her What I Wore Wednesday and Rolled Up Pretty for her Whatever Whenever Wednesday.
What I Am Wearing:
utility jacket- Old Navy (buy it here) skirt- H&M top- The Limited belt- Fossil
bag- Steve Madden heels- Gianni Binni aviators and watch- Guess

Bottoms up...
Hi lovelies,
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
Fall is here and so are rich, dark, warm, fall colors.
Fall is here and so are tights and pants to keep my legs warm.
Time to experiment with pants- colored pants, printed pants and coated pants!
I was elated to find this pair of vibrant, red pants on sale in store, just the right shade of red I was looking for all this while.
Thumbs up to pants this season, thumbs up to bottoms, or should I say bottoms up?
Today I'm linking up with Still Being Molly for her YOLOMondays link-up!
What I Am Wearing:

top- T J Maxx sunglasses- Guess belt and bracelet- F21 watch- DKNY

Adieu summer...
Today is officially the last day of the summer of 2012.
Adieu summer!!
Even though I'm sad to bid goodbye to colored shorts and bright dresses for this year and terribly scared of the freezing, cold winter, the anticipation of the holiday season is making me happy.
I'm eagerly looking forward to the lights and the scary masks of Halloween, the hyped midnight shopping of the Black Friday after a sumptuous Thanksgiving dinner, the 'shop till you drop' spree before the Christmas, decorating the Christmas tree and ushering in a brand new year!
I'm eagerly looking forward to shopping in an over crowded mall and watching the happy faces around!
I'm eagerly looking forward to the bells and the stars, the snowflakes on the bare branches, the soft cashmere cardigans and wool coats, a cup of piping hot chocolate with a slice of homemade rum cake!
I'm eagerly looking forward to the parties and the gatherings, the dinners and the drinking, the fun and frolic and the spirit of festivity!!
Bidding good bye to a very bright and beautiful summer and welcoming a very happy and festive fall and winter!
Today I'm linking up with Two Thirty-Five Designs for her Casual Friday Link Up!

top- J C Penny belt- Banana Republic flower pin and sandals- Forever 21

Lady Rose...
I've always admired skirts and tops with rosettes all over, but sadly enough, I do not own any such thing.
So, this morning, when I was in a mood to be a 'Lady Rose', I just piled up the only two pieces in my closet, with a few rosettes and called it a day.
But a rosette covered, blush colored mini still comes in my dreams and hopefully I'll be lucky enough to lay my hands on it some day and be the perfect 'Lady Rose'!!
Looking at the pictures I realize that something is missing in this look- a yellow belt! Darn!!

Hope you all had a wonderful week end!
Another fabulous find at Forever 21. I love the color and the material of this shirt and the black trim really makes it pop. As I was going through the pics, the one thing that amazed me is that these purple pants look really blue in the shade, but turn purple again under the sunlight!
Hmmm, seems like these pants are so fond of the sun that they like showing their true color only in broad daylight.
Huh, there is no chance of purple rain here, then! What a bummer!!

Beauties and bounties...
Last Sunday we paid a visit to the Chicago Botanical Garden with our friends. I was amazed at the
beauties and bounties of mother nature, so well preserved and well-maintained by her human children!
The weather was perfect- not too hot, neither too cold- bright and sunny and a little breezy.
This light denim jacket and the cotton Ikat dress were perfect for the outing. We walked a lot and hence the flats were a good choice.
I was super excited because for the first time ever I got a new photographer with a brand new DSLR.
My dear friend's husband was sweet enough to click a few shots of me for my blog.

A beautiful smile...
A big hello to my lovely readers,
Sorry for such a prolonged absence. It was a busy but exciting week for me. My mom is visiting us from India and I'm overwhelmed to see her after almost two years. I'm totally looking forward to spend some quality time with her during her two months stay in this country.
Thank you all for being so supportive and for commenting. I'm being a little slow in visiting you all back, but I promise I'll do so in the coming few days.
I have never before shopped at Talbots.
The black and white floral pencil skirt in the window caught my eyes and I stepped into this hitherto unexplored zone named Talbots!
I was taken aback by the people inside the store- every single soul inside, right from the store manager, to the customers, from the lady at the check out to the lady in charge of the fitting room, had a wrinkled face, gray hair and a broad, beaming and beautiful smile!
Honestly, I was feeling so out of place and was ready to step out, but the smiling countenances that exuded so much warmth, pulled me in.
Immediately I was drawn to this bright, floral pencil skirt, hanging on the clearance rack and it came home with me. I'm not sure if Talbots is considered as an elderly women's store, but I'm so happy with my purchase and the beautiful people with beautiful smiles, that I'm going to step into this store again for sure.
Tell me, has anyone of you ever shopped in Talbots?
Do you think it is an elderly women's store?

A simple detail...
Hello my lovely friends and readers,
Hope you all had a wonderful long weekend.
Mine was hectic but so much fun with a party, a cultural program, a short road trip and shopping.
Sometimes simplicity steals your heart and that is exactly what happened to me when I saw this dress at OASAP. The crochet neckline was the only simple detail in this solid navy dress and was enough to make an impression. The other interesting feature of this dress is that the moment I received it, I literally tore the packaging in excitement and put on the dress but in the rush I wore it back side front and it looked great that way too!
I wanted to maintain the simplicity of the dress and pearls are the epitome of simple elegance. Hence some pearl bracelets, a little pop of red and a neutral, less feminine satchel. It was a windy day and it was difficult to capture the flaps, in the front, lying flat. After much struggle with the gusty wind, we some how managed a couple clicks and celebrated our triumph with some delicious Thai food and some good shopping (wink)!
Tell me, how did you spend your long week end?
What I Am Wearing:
dress- Thanks to OASAP (buy it here) bag- Steve Madden belt- F21
aviators and watch- Guess flats- Old Navy bracelets- gift, Charlotte Russe
Thanking you Yours fashionably
