Santa Claus is coming to town...
So here it is, the moment of truth.
The day that we've all been waiting for all this while.
Santa Claus is, after all, coming to town!
Merry Christmas to all my lovely readers, followers and friends!
We are off to the Big Apple to celebrate Christmas and New Year with our dear friends. So forgive me if I'm a little irregular during the holidays. I'm sure you all won't mind as every one of you will be so busy partying or hosting parties, vacationing or simply spending some quality time with friends and families, that you will have no time left to visit my blog!
Coming to what to wear on Christmas, I simply refuse to wear head to toe red on Christmas and look like Lady Santa!
I am planning to keep the color palette similar to this with red as an accent color only and of course will add some sparkle and glitter.
Tell me, how do you plan to spend Christmas and what are you planning to wear on Christmas?
On another note, on this happy occasion, every now and then I can't help but think of those little angels, their brave teachers and the affected families in New Town, Connecticut.
This Christmas, lets all pray for their souls- may they rest in peace.
What I Am Wearing:
skirt- BCBGMaxAzria outlet top- Maurices bag- Coach shoes- Liz Claiborne
sunglasses- Guess watch- Kenneth Cole necklace and bracelets- Forever 21

White Christmas...
The first snow of the season is always magical, especially if it is around Christmas.
Yesterday we were hit by the first major snow storm of the season and there is a prediction of a tiny winy amount of snow on the Christmas night here in Iowa! Some luck, huh?
But alas, we will celebrating Christmas and New Year somewhere else in the country. Hoping to see some pristine, white snow there too!
Its been some time that I have seen a white Christmas and all the snow around is sure making me dream of a white Christmas!
Coming back to today's outfit, don't you think a red plaid shirt with white accents screams out C-H-R-I-S-T-M-A-S?
The hubby was shocked to see me wearing white in the snow, but I was in no mood to pay heed to the age old rule of no white after labor day! Rules are meant to be broken, what do you think?
It is always a wise idea to dress in layers especially when the mercury drops to 9 degrees Fahrenheit and I did exactly that.
I think I could really use a faux fur vest here but unfortunately I have not yet found the right one for me!
Tell me, how do you like the idea of wearing white when the outside is whitewashed? Have you ever tried winter whites?
What I Am Wearing:
puffer vest- Kenneth Cole Reaction plaid shirt and denim- Hollister booties- Target
bag and sunglasses- Guess necklace- F21 hat- Tommy Hilfiger gloves- Old Navy

Time to shine...
'Tis the season of all things shiny and shimmery, all things sparkly and glittery.
'Tis the time to shine!
For a woman like me, who is not so much into sequins and glitters, a little hint of sparkle and shine, I feel, goes a long way.
As much as I love colors, I totally dig an all neutral look too, like this black and tan outfit, adorned with a dash of shine, some gold accents and a touch of print.
BTW, this tan faux leather skirt is the second of the three BCBG MaxAzria steal deals scored on Black Friday.
Tell me, are you a head to toe sequin girl or you like sparkle in moderation?
What I Am Wearing:
skirt- BCBGMaxAzria outlet top- Bebe boots- Michael Kors sunnies- Steve Madden
bag- Aldo (buy it here, on sale now) necklace- Thanks to INPINK (buy it here)
watch- DKNY Ceramic (buy it here) bracelets- Guess, Buckle cuff- Kohl's

A rendezvous with red...
Red, I feel, is such an appropriate color to wear at this festive time of the year.
Especially, at work, when it is impossible to wear head to toe sequin or sparkle, but still you want to capture the festivity in your look, red is a sure winner.
A little gold or sparkle accents, like this gold glitter belt I'm wearing, and you look work appropriate yet so ready for the holidays.
If your work place is really conservative and you feel the combination of red and animal print is too loud, you can always bring it down a notch with a black blazer.
Thinking of catching up with your girlfriends over some drinks after work? Toss those black tights and pumps for a pair of glittery gold heels, a statement necklace, a black/gold glitter clutch and you'll be a 'head turner' for sure!
For now, I feel like I'm so stylishly decked up for a meeting or a rendezvous- a rendezvous in and with red!
Today I'm linking up with Still Being Molly for her YOLOMondays link up.
What I Am Wearing:
skirt- Express shirt- Forever 21 trench coat- H&M bracelets- Forever 21
bag- Calvin Klein (buy similar here) shoes- Nine West sunglasses- Steve Madden

P.S. My prayers and heart felt condolences for the victims and their families of New Town, Connecticut.
No words can ever express the magnitude of the devastation and the trauma caused by such incidents.

Chambray 'n' shine...
Holiday season is here and I'm so elated and euphoric about it but I feel that my clothes have not yet reflected my mood or the way I'm feeling right now. How can there be festivity without some shine, shimmer, glitter and sparkle?
So here I am, flaunting my very first shiny attire of the holiday season- a peach, sequin, pencil skirt toned down with a chambray shirt to make it daytime appropriate.
Enjoy a dose of chambray 'n' shine, my friends!
What I Am Wearing:
chambray shirt- Old Navy (buy similar here) skirt- H&M clutch- T J Maxx
watch and sunglasses- Kenneth Cole heels, necklace, bracelets, flower pin- F21

12.12.12
Today is a very special day! Not only because it is significant numerologically but because it is a very special day in my life. Today, on 12.12.12. we completed 5 years of marital bliss- it is our 5th wedding anniversary!
Since the day I started blogging, I've seen many of my fellow bloggers posting their wedding pics and have always thought of sharing some of my wedding pics on my special day.
Our wedding was a typical Indian wedding.
While some of you might identify with it, to most of my readers and followers, it'll be like reading a Hebrew script! But I guess the unknown and the unseen always intrigues one and hence I wanted to show you all a glimpse of it.
Well, just because my husband is very shy of publishing his photographs in a public forum and also because this is, predominantly, a women's fashion/style blog, I'll keep the pictures few and limited to me and my attire on the wedding day and the wedding reception day.
The Wedding
The Reception
While you all will be reading this post, this Indian couple will be lost in a small Dutch town, in the very heart of America, admiring European architecture amidst American landscape, enjoying Italian cuisine and French wine and spending some quality time with each other, reminiscing all the sweet ups and the not so sweet downs of this journey called marriage!
Truly cosmopolitan, isn't it?
Will see you all soon. Till then, XOXO!
Thanking you Yours fashionably

Color play...
I love playing with colors.
The day when I run out of outfit ideas, I resort to some color play.
The day when I'm a little down, I resort to some color play.
The day when nothing seems to work, I resort to some color play.
A little color play always cheers me up.
That's the magic of COLORS.
Today I'm linking up with Still Being Molly for her YOLOmondays link up.
